About

The International Synth Design Hackathon is a global event where students and researchers from 15 academies design interactive sound experiences in January February 2023. Programs participating include music technology, engineering, computer science, design and art.

Educational vision

The International Synth Design Hackathon aims to bring the world of music technology, design and engineering together. Learning from one another, sharing teaching techniques and tools, and forming collaborations among participants.

This is a transdisciplinary initiative. Local events take place in different academies around the world, and these include a variety of programs including music technology, design, art, engineering and computer science.

Participants can join in different stages of their practice. They might be in their first year to their bachelor program, in the midst of their masters, or in their PhD phase.

Guidelines

The program is open ended and participants are encouraged to challenge the boundaries of instrument design and interactive experience. Here are the ground rules all participants should follow:
